Dr. Kevin Hugill
Dr Kevin Hugill is a Director of Nursing and Midwifery Education at Hamad Medical Corporation. He works to support midwifery and neonatal education; research and service transformation plans across the organization. Previously, he worked as a senior lecturer in a UK university. Kevin’s first degree was in Zoology. He is a licensed nurse in the UK and Qatar and holds specialist neonatal nursing, nurse education and health care managerial qualifications at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels.
His practice and research interests encompass women’s health and neonatal nursing. His PhD was concerned with the emotion work of fathers after experiencing preterm birth of their child. He has published articles, books and book chapters on this and numerous other topics reflecting his eclectic and wide-ranging interests. Currently, he is involved in a number of research projects concerning vascular access in neonates, and establishing benchmarks for clotted blood samples.
