Prof. Sami Bahna (USA)

Dr. Sami L. Bahna, Professor of Pediatrics & Medicine, is the Chief of the Allergy-Immunology Section at Louisiana State University. He received his medical degree with Honors at Cairo University, a Doctorate Degree in Public Health at Alexandria University, and a Research Fellowship at the University of Bergen, Norway. 

He had a Pediatric Residency at the University of Maryland and an Allergy & Immunology Fellowship at the University of California in Los Angeles. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy-Immunology. A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and the European Academy of Allergy & Clinical Immunology, and a Member of the Society of Pediatric Research and the Clinical Immunology Society. 

Dr. Bahna directed four training programs where he mentored more than 85 physicians specialized in allergy immunology and published 200 papers and 40 book chapters. He served on the editorial boards of several journals and was an invited speaker worldwide. 

He was President of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. He received many honors and awards, including the Humanism in Medicine Award and the Life Achievement Gold-Headed Cane Award.
