Dr. Mamatha Ramaswamy

I have been working as Senior Consultant in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar since 2015. I have led Point of Care Testing service from 2016 until 2020 and Metabolic Laboratory from 2020 until date. My journey in HMC has been defined by significant contributions to the development and advancements of Qatar’s Newborn Screening Program and Biochemical Genetics Services, successfully navigating numerous challenges and achieving key milestones.​

Prior to joining HMC, I have held consultant roles at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Hospitals and Salford Royal NHS Hospitals in the United Kingdom. I am deeply committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered laboratory services and fostering collaborative departmental excellence. As an individual I am self-motivated, dynamic and a strong team player. I have authored several publications in International peer reviewed journals and continue to contribute to the advancement of metabolic medicine. 

I hold Certificate of Completion of Training in Chemical Pathology from the General Medical Council and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists, UK. I have also completed the Medical Leadership in Practice program at Manchester Business School, UK. My academic journey includes an MD in Pathology from Rajiv Gandhi University and an MBBS from Bangalore University both in India.
