Dr. Ahmed Shaker Omran is a Senior Consultant in Chemical Pathology at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), where he holds positions as Director of the HGH and PEC Al-Sadd Laboratories, Head of the Central Chemistry Laboratory, and Head of Chemistry at the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR). He possesses over twenty years of experience in chemical pathology, healthcare leadership, and academic instruction across Qatar, Sweden, and Iraq.
Previously, Dr. Omran served as a senior consultant at Linköping University Hospital in Sweden, overseeing clinical chemistry services, including protein and immunochemistry laboratories and point-of-care testing. He also managed laboratory operations for QatarEnergy.
Dr. Omran holds specialist licenses in Clinical Chemistry from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare and in Chemical Pathology from the Iraqi Ministry of Health. His research interests include bone biomarkers, endocrinology, and laboratory automation, with publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
