Al Maha Pediatric Specialized Care Center consolidates comprehensive pediatric services, to provide 24/7 inpatient care for children requiring acute admission or long-term management of chronic and complex health conditions. It is also home to the
Child Development Center (CDC), which provides diverse outpatient services to support general pediatric health and address developmental needs. These outpatient clinics operate Sunday to Thursday, from 7 AM – 3 PM. National Diabetes Center
The National Diabetes Center, established in 2015 and currently located at Mesaieed General Hospital, provides patients in the southern region of Qatar with access to comprehensive, world-class outpatient diabetes services, all under one roof. The center offers a full spectrum of care, including:

Al Wakra Hospital provides comprehensive Obstetrics & Gynecology (Obs/Gyn) services designed to support women’s health at every stage of life, from adolescence through reproductive years and beyond.

Intensive Care Services
Al Wakra Hospital provides 24/7 specialized intensive care for critically ill patients who require continuous monitoring and life-sustaining treatment due to serious or unstable medical conditions. Our Intensive Care Units (ICUs) are staffed by multidisciplinary teams trained to manage patients with complex health needs, including those with unstable hemodynamic conditions or organ dysfunction.

Our Critical Care Units work closely with other ICU’s in all other hospital departments across HMC facilities to ensure seamless admission, treatment, referral, and discharge processes for intensive care patients.
Cardiology Services
We provide high-quality, compassionate care for adults with a wide range of heart conditions. Some cardiac issues are present at birth, others develop over time due to aging or lifestyle factors, and some may run in families. While not all heart conditions can be prevented, many are manageable with early detection and proper care. Our Cardiology Department offers:
- 24/7 inpatient care for acute cardiac conditions
- Comprehensive evaluation and management of heart failure, heart disease, congenital heart defects, and other cardiovascular conditions
- Multidisciplinary support for diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up

Adult Emergency Services

The Adult Emergency Department at Al Wakra Hospital provides 24/7 emergency medical services for patients aged 14 years and above. Our highly trained emergency teams are equipped to manage acute and urgent health conditions with rapid response and specialized care. For patients under 14 years, emergency care is limited to serious injuries or burns, with other pediatric cases directed to the Pediatric Emergency Department.

Access to the Adult Emergency Department is through Gate 6. Follow the road over the bridge, which leads directly to the main entrance of the emergency area.
Triage and Prioritization
We follow the
Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) to ensure that all patients are assessed based on the urgency of their condition, not arrival time. This internationally recognized system allows us to prioritize the most critical cases while efficiently utilizing medical staff and resources.
Geriatric Services
Al Wakra Hospital provides geriatric care for patients aged 60 years and above through inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services. Our approach prioritizes dignity, safety, and tailored care that respects the unique needs of older patients, whom we respectfully refer to as our “Seniors of Esteem.”

Dialysis Services
The Dialysis Unit at Al Wakra Hospital provides high-quality Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) for adult patients with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, or those preparing for renal transplantation. Our multidisciplinary team ensures safe, personalized dialysis care in a well-equipped, supportive environment.
Location of Dialysis Unit
The Dialysis unit is located on the Ground Floor, North Tower, and operates from Saturday to Thursday at 6 AM – 10 PM with on-call coverage available after hours and on Fridays.
Dental Outpatient Department
The Dental Outpatient Department (OPD) of Al Wakra Hospital offers comprehensive secondary and tertiary oral healthcare for both adult and pediatric patients, including those with special needs. Our team provides multidisciplinary dental services focused on preventive, restorative, and surgical dental care.
Location of Dental OPD
The Dental OPD is located on the Ground Floor, South Tower, and operates from Saturday to Thursday at 7 AM – 3 PM, while the Specialized clinics are available until 7 PM.
