We believe that visitors play an important role in supporting the recovery and wellbeing of our patients. To ensure that patients are able to see friends and family but are also able to receive adequate rest and medical supervision, the following visitation hours should be adhered to:

General Units:
6.30am to 7.30am
4pm to 9pm
(Please note children are not permitted)

Intensive Care Unit (MICU, SICU, TICU)
11.30am to 12.30pm
4pm to 5pm
8pm to 9pm
(Children under 12 years are not permitted)

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

One parent can be present with the child throughout their hospital stay

Extended family members can visit between the following hours:
12 am to 2pm
7pm to 9pm

For security reasons, a parent must always be present if others are visiting. No visitors will be allowed in the absence of a parent
For post cardio thoracic surgery patients, only parents will be allowed to visit in the first 24 hours following surgery; children are not allowed.

Visiting restrictions

Visiting times for general units and for intensive care units are listed. In general, Hamad General Hospital discourages children visiting the hospital for their own protection.
