
Lena NassarSenior Clinical Dietician
Lena Nassar is Senior Clinical Dietician. She joined HMC in 2010 and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition Dietetics from Qatar University. She is heavily involved in putting together training programs for QU postgraduate students in critical care services. Her clinical workload focuses mainly on the critically ill provision. Ms. Nassar has presented at numerous national and international symposiums as well as courses and has also participated in various nutritional awareness symposiums.
Ms. Nassar participated in several educations sessions presented to physicians, nurses, students as well as several lectures during the trauma fellowship program. He also participated in several interviews on local channels for nutritional education purposes helping to increase awareness. Ms. Nassar participates in several committees to prepare learning educational handouts and materials for inpatients and outpatients for increasing nutritional attentiveness and improving their quality of life. In addition to her chairing several conferences in critical care nutrition, she also organizes many nutritional events, prepares and participates in different workshops for improving quality of care. Ms. Nassar is involved in quality projects in the hospital and serves on ICU committees to develop and evaluate practice guidelines and policies.
Ms. Nassar is on the Dean’s list for honor and excellence and serving as chairperson for the Medical and Science College in 2010 for three consecutive years. Her experience extends mainly to critical care and since joining the organization she has had a keen interest to participate effectively in Best Care Always learning sessions provided by HMC and IHI Middle East Forum. She is certified in Critical Thinking in Nutrition Diagnosis and participates effectively in advancing practice.
