Ahmad Ghassan Mustafa Abutaka, MBBS

Dr Ahmad Abutaka, is a chief resident in General Surgery at HMC. He obtained his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2011. After he finished his internship in Jordan Hospital, he joined King Hussein Cancer Center in the transitional year program of surgical oncology for one year before joining HMC.

Dr Abutaka is interested in minimally invasive surgery, surgical oncology, colorectal surgery and pediatric surgery. He has led multiple quality improvement projects and is an active member of the perioperative quality improvement team of HGH. Dr Abutaka was a member of the program evaluation committee and the resident representative of the Internal Review committees of ACGME-I accredited programs.

Dr Abutaka served as the administrative chief resident of general surgery for the year 2016 -2017. He is an active committee member of the American College of Surgeons, Qatar Chapter. He has been awarded the President Scholarship for being one of the top 10 students in the High School Certification Tests in Palestine.
