Dr. Amir Khoshbin is an orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty expertise in adult hip and knee reconstruction and trauma. His clinical practice focuses on primary and complex revision joint arthroplasty, Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) hip replacement, and the management of complex lower extremity trauma including pelvis and acetabulum fractures.
Dr. Khoshbin completed both his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Toronto, followed by orthopaedic surgery residency training at the same institution. During residency, he was enrolled in the Surgeon Scientist Program and obtained a Master of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology.
He subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston through the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA). He then completed a second fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Dr. Khoshbin currently serves as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at St. Michael’s Hospital and holds the inaugural Agnico Eagle Chair in Joint Arthroplasty. He is the 2025 Chair of Research for the Canadian Arthroplasty Society and vice-chair for research for the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Toronto.
