
Prof. Guillaume Alinier
Prof. Guillaume Alinier has been in Qatar for over a decade. He works for Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service as Director of Research, where he mentors several colleagues in their academic endeavours. After his undergraduate studies in France, he moved to the UK and obtained his Masters in Applied Physics and a PhD in Simulation in Healthcare Education. He holds several academic affiliations including as Professor at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), where he supervises PhD students, Adjunct Professor of Education in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar and Visiting Fellow at Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He is the recipient of a 2006 National Teaching Fellowship award from the UK Higher Education Academy (now “Advance HE”).
He serves on numerous healthcare education, emergency medicine, and paramedic journal editorial boards, regularly speaks at international conferences, and is widely published and cited (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=9SMHCwEAAAAJ&hl=en). His work includes a book on Debriefing co-written with Prof, Denis Oriot, which has been translated in different languages by Springer and Elsevier. He has served as Guest Editor for special issues of the Qatar Medical Journal and the Journal of Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Acute Care on four occasions, and is the Chair of the Qatar Health 2022 Abstract Review Committee and Scientific Committee Member.
