A senior consultant cardiothoracic and transplant surgeon currently works at the cardiothoracic and transplant centre, Heart Hospital, Doha, Qatar. Previously a Consultant Cardiothoracic and Heart-Lung transplant Surgeon at The Freeman Hospital Newcastle upon Tyne, UK since 2016.
He completed his training in general surgery then cardiothoracic surgery at the Northern Deanery, UKHe holds multiple qualifications in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery.
He has a particular interest in minimally invecardiac surgery, mitral valve repair, aortic surgery and TAVI and is certified to use the Da Vinci surgical robotic system. He currently practices widely in all forms of adult cardiac surgery including cardiopulmonary transplantation, surgical management of heart failure using mechanical assisted devices beating heart surgery and total arterial revascularization
Mr. Kindawi is actively involved in research and has published around 20 original publications in peer review journals and had presented several oral and poster presentations at national and international cardiothoracic society meetings. He has mentored several post graduate trainees in Doha and the UK and is a pioneer in undergraduate teaching for medical students from Newcastle University and Qatar.
