Dr. Juan P. Alvarez de Toledo Elizalde received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona in 1987 and specialized in Ophthalmology (1992). At the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre, he performs clinical and surgical activities in the Department of Surgery. He specializes in the Anterior Segment and Refractive Surgery. He is also Head of the Department of Cornea Conservation in the Eye Bank for Treatment of Blindness.
Dr. Elizalde has received several awards and distinctions at both the national and international level, including "Award for the best presentation of a session at the American Society of Refractive Surgery and Cataract (ASCRS)’ in San Francisco, USA, in 2003.
