Akmal Abdel Monem Rizk is Professor of Ophthalmology and Head of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Research Institute of Ophthalmology in Cairo and Consultant & Head of the Pediatric Ophthalmology Department at Magrabi Eye Hospitals, Egypt.
He received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the Cairo University in 1982, Master of Science degree in Ophthalmology in 1987.
He also received his Medical Doctorate in Ophthalmology from Cairo University in 1993. He received a post-doctorate training In the Christian-Albrechts Universität zu Kiel from 1995-1996.
Strabismus & pediatric cataract are the main focus of his clinical work and research.
He is a Member of the board of the Egyptian Pediatric Eye Surgeon (EGPES) and is a visiting consultant at Hamad General Hospital.
