Our pediatric service offers a unique multidisciplinary program that focusses on assessment and management of feeding and swallowing problems. The team is led by the Neurorehabilitation Pediatrician, along with the core team including an otolaryngologist (ENT specialist), speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, dietitian and the nurse.
There are many possible causes for feeding and swallowing problems, including: nervous system disorders, like cerebral palsy or meningitis. reflux or other stomach problems. being premature or having a low birth weight. Safe and efficient feeding and swallowing skills are important to allow children to meet their nutritional requirements as they grow.
Our program is based on a collaborative and family centered approach where each child receives a comprehensive, interdisciplinary evaluation and management of all the processes related to feeding and swallowing.
