The major modernization program being undertaken at Hamad General Hospital will deliver a comprehensive program of work for its two main inpatient towers, plus a number of additional areas, to upgrade systems, facilities and equipment. Once complete, patients will benefit from the modernization program in a number of ways:

All rooms will become single occupancy rooms, providing patients with enhanced privacy and dignity, improved visitor arrangements, and heightened infection control.

Hospitals, just like any type of building, need to be regularly maintained and kept up-to-date. The modernization program will improve the cosmetics of many parts of Hamad General Hospital to enhance the healthcare environment and improve the overall patient experience. All ceilings, lighting and flooring will be replaced, providing a fresh, modern look and feel to the hospital.

A full upgrade of technical services will be undertaken with electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems all replaced, improving the environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Modern CCTV, sprinklers and advanced hospital safety systems will be installed throughout the areas, enhancing surveillance and safety.
