Dr. Wael Khalaf is a Senior Consultant in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine, boasting an illustrious career spanning over two decades. In 2020, he brought his expertise to Hamad Medical Corporation, where he currently serves as the Director of Surgical Critical Care at Hamad General Hospital.
A graduate of the University of Manchester, Dr. Khalaf initially delved into Internal Medicine, subsequently refining his focus on Anaesthesia, a field where his ardor for critical care flourished.
During his tenure in the United Kingdom, Dr. Khalaf held pivotal leadership positions, including the roles of Clinical Director of the Intensive Care Unit and Deputy Clinical Director of the Anaesthetic Department at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr. Khalaf is the lead intensivist spearheading the postoperative care of lung transplant patients in critical care in HMC.
