Sashtha Girish A. Swaminathan is a Quality Coordinator within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at WWRC, with an extensive 14-year tenure at HMC. Possessing a robust professional portfolio, Sashtha is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), a distinguished TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer certified in the USA, and an accomplished IHI Improvement Coach. Furthermore, Sashtha holds the prestigious designation of Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (CLSSBB) and has attained a Fellowship (FISQua) from ISQua – Ireland. Adding to this impressive array of qualifications, Sashtha has completed a Diploma in Healthcare Informatics and earned a Certificate in Healthcare Quality Management from Medvarsity & Apollo.
Sashtha's journey in Quality Improvement began by contributing to teams within the NICU as part of the Best Care Always initiative (IHI). Driven by a passion for continuous learning, Sashtha pursued the CCITP program, successfully completing it and subsequently leveraging this expertise to coach teams for CCITP in NICU & WWRC over the past five years. Sashtha also serves as a Speaker for HHQI, delivering a range of Quality Improvement courses. Additionally, Sashtha's leadership extends to being a Course Director & Instructor for HITC, where they spearhead the TeamSTEPPS Program training for healthcare staff across HMC and Qatar, focusing on enhancing teamwork and communication within the healthcare setting.
