Dr. Nikhil Prakash Gupta ​

Dr. Nikhil Prakash Gupta is a technical officer in the patient safety flagship unit of WHO headquarters at Geneva. He played a key role in writing and coordinating the Global Patient Safety Action Plan 2021-2030. He is now leading a global survey and preparing the first global patient safety report. His work involves implementing the global action plan and applying digital technologies to patient safety. He joined the global patient safety unit in 2018, after working with WHO country offices in India and Maldives. He helped develop the national patient safety implementation framework for India. Nikhil began his public health career with National Health Systems Resource Center in India, where he was part of the team that developed quality assurance framework for public health facilities. He also contributed to WASH in health care facilities and Standard Treatment Guidelines programs in India.
