Dr. Naveed Durrani



After completing his graduation and postgraduate training in Pediatrics from The College of Physicians and Surgeons in Pakistan, Dr. Durrani worked in various level III Neonatal ICUs across the UK, Saudi Arabia, and UAE before proceeding to Canada, where he completed his fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine from McMaster University in 2018. He is an affiliate in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine from The Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, Canada. He is also a fellow of The Royal College of Pediatrics & Child Health, UK, and a member of The Royal College of Physicians, Ireland. Dr Durrani also completed all the requirements for special Registration in Neonatal Medicine (CESR) eligibility from The General Medical Council UK. 

Dr. Durrani has been working as a Neonatologist at Sidra Medicine since 2019 and is also an Assistant professor in Clinical Pediatrics at Well Cornell Medicine Qatar. 

Throughout his career, Dr Durrani provided expertise in managing sick babies with complex multisystem problems in various level III NICUs. 

Dr. Durrani published more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His particular interest focuses on Neonatal sepsis and Quality improvement projects. 

Today, he is going to present his quality improvement project on the Novel use of Buccal Midazolam as Procedural Sedation for Neonates undergoing MRI.
