Mohammad Abuqamar
Acting Director of Nursing- Acute Medical Hamad General Hospital
Mr. Mohammed SM Abuqamar possesses a unique blend of clinical, managerial, and technological proficiency as an acting Director of Nursing for Acute Medical Units in Hamad General Hospital (HGH). He has over 20 years of HMC experience, including 12 years’ experience in nursing management. He received his BSc degree in nursing from the Islamic University of Gaza and a master’s degree in healthcare management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RSCI). He also holds a Diploma in information systems management (DISM) from Aptech Education Centre and is certified as a Healthcare Lean Practitioner from the University of Tennessee.
Mr. Abuqamar serves as a member of different HGH sub-committees and corporate committees such as the HGH AOP and ACC Sub-committees, HGH Nursing Informatics and Research Committees. He is also the Co-chair of the HMC Long-term and Community Nursing Network Steering Committee for the last two years (from 2021 to 2023). He participated and led several quality and patient safety initiatives such as the Medical MRI FastTrack initiative, Acute Surgery Nursing-led Discharge Project, Medical Flow Lounge project, implementation of MCAP solution, HGH-Operational Dashboard Validation Team. A three-time recipient of the Star of Excellence Award and one time- Global of Excellence awardee. He is a key component and milestone in the growth of the case management- patient flow at HGH. Furthermore, he was one of the operational leads of HGH-FIFA World Cup Pathway- Operation Center.
