Dr. Gautam L. Sharma, MD, Ph.D., serves as an Improvement Advisor and Program Director for High-Performing Organizations at the HHQI, HMC. Additionally, he holds the position of Vice-chair for the Corporate VTE Prevention & QI Steering Committee at HMC and is a Senior Quality Improvement faculty member for various QI training programs.
With a diverse set of qualifications, Dr. Gautam is a Six Sigma Black Belt certified professional, a Certified PMP, a Certified CPHQ, and a Certified PRINCE2® Practitioner. His academic background includes a Master’s in Hospital Management, a Doctor of Philosophy, and a Doctor of Medicine. He is also a Postgraduate in Quality Improvement.
Dr. Gautam brings extensive experience in hospital administration and operations management to his role, having successfully administered a 2000-bed super multispecialty tertiary care public hospital. Notable achievements include leading the functionalization of 163 First Referral Hospitals to serve a state population of 62.7 million. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, Dr. Gautam has been honored as an epidemic and pandemic control officer by the Public HFWD of the State Health Ministry. He has further showcased his expertise through international publications.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Gautam values his family, which includes his parents, wife, daughter, and beloved cat.
