Dr. Ahmed Al-Mohammed received his undergraduate medical education and graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland in 1989. Thereafter, he did post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at HMC and certified by the Arab Board for Health Specializations in Internal Medicine (CABHS) in 2003, he then specialized and currently a practicing Sr. Pulmonary Consultant at HMC.
Dr. Al-Mohammed held the position of Program Director for Internal Medicine Residency and Core Program Director for all medical specialties Fellowship programs from 2007 till 2020. This is the largest residency training program at HMC, and ACGME-I accredited. He is also the representative of the State of Qatar at the Arab Board Medical Council in Amman, Jordon. Additionally, Dr. Al-Mohammed is the current Corporate Chairman of the Department of Medicine at HMC, Deputy Medical Director for HGH, A/Medical Director at HMGH, HMC and the Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Medical Services at HMC.
Dr. Al-Mohammed is a senior Pulmonary Medicine Consultant and faculty at HMC. Appointed as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine in Qatar (WCM-Q). Dr. Al-Mohammed also holds a Fellowship Degree in Clinical Informatics and acts as a Lead for Clinical Information System (CIS) implementation and the Chair of CIS Optimization across all HMC medical facilities till Oct. 2023.
Dr. Al-Mohammed appointed as the Chair of the FIFA World Cup Qatar – 2022, Health Strategic Command Group (FWCQ-2022 HSCG) which functioned to lead and oversee all health-related preparations for FWCQ-2022.
