Dr. Ahmed A. Al-Mohammed received his undergraduate medical education and graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland in 1989.  Thereafter, he did post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at HMC and certified by the Arab Board for Health Specializations in Internal Medicine (ABHS) in 2003, he then specialized and currently a practicing Pulmonary Physician at HMC.

Dr. Ahmed held the position of Program Director for Internal Medicine Residency in 2007 and still holding this position to date. This is the largest residency training program at HMC, which is an ACGME-I accredited program. He is also the representative of the State of Qatar at the Arab Board Medical Council in Amman, Jordon and member of the Arab Board Examination Committee. Additionally, Dr. Ahmed has been recently appointed as the Vice Chair for Education and Training for the Department of Medicine at HMC and Deputy Medical Director for Hamad General Hospital at HMC.

Dr. Ahmed is a senior consultant and faculty at HMC and has been appointed as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q). He is also an active educator and leader of the education Program in the Department of Medicine, planning and overseeing the whole education process in the department. Being the core program director; Dr. Ahmed is also in charge of the Department of Medicine Fellowship Directors and Fellowship Programs of all medical sub-specialties at HMC.
