
Prof. Marina Backhaus
Nemanja Damjanov completed his undergraduate studies, Master Studies (Immunology) and PhD from University of Belgrade, School of Medicine. He has been working in the Institute of Rheumatology since 1982, and finished his residence in Internal Medicine from University of Belgrade, School of Medicine in 1988.
Dr Nemanja Damjanov is a full Professor of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the University of Belgrade, School of Medicine and the director of the Institute of Rheumatology, Belgrade, Serbia.
Numerous Prof. Damjanov's scientific activities have been dedicated to Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSUS) in Rheumatology. Results of these activities have been published in medical literature. For many years he has been active in organization of international scientific meeting and educational courses, and has been invited speaker at number of meetings in Europe. Asia and USA. Important part of his educational activities was dedicated to MSUS in Rheumatology. He was a lecturer and instructor at four EULAR Courses, two TTT EULAR Courses and at 22 EULAR Scientifically Endorsed regional MSUS Courses in Europe and Asia. He was Executive Director of 8 EULAR Scientifically Endorsed regional MSUS Courses.
Prof. Damjanov is the Past President of Rheumatology Association of Serbia.
His research interests include Scleroderma, Capillaroscopy, Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and Sonography in Rheumatology. Prof. Damjanov published more than 420 papers in reputed journals. He is serving as the Editor in chief of “Acta Rheumatologica Belgradensia”, Associate Editor of “Rheumatology (Oxford)”.and Editorial board member of “Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases”.
