Dr. Basem Awadh
Dr. Basem Awadh is currently a Senior Consultant and an Associate Program Director in the Rheumatology Division, Hamad General Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation. He earned his MD degree from Damascus University then completed his training in the US.
He first carried out his internal medicine training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s School of Medicine and later completed his rheumatology fellowship training at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
He later started his career at the University of Kansas Medical Center and worked there as an Assistant Professor for several years. He is currently American Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.
Dr. Basem’s interests include spondylorathropathy and vasculitis in addition to musculoskeletal ultrasound in rheumatology as well as community awareness campaigns, meetings and education courses aimed at improving rheumatology training at Hamad Medical Corporation.
