Dr. Mahwish Khawar is an Associate Consultant in Colorectal Surgery at Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar. She completed her General Surgery Residency at HMC and earned certification from the Arab Board of General Surgery, in addition to passing the MRCS examination. She then completed a dedicated Colorectal Surgery Fellowship and later achieved EBSQ-Coloproctology accreditation, earning the title of Fellow of the European Board of Surgery (FEBS). She has also completed the University Diploma in Colorectal Surgery following an intensive, week-long advanced course at IRCAD Strasbourg.
Dr. Mahwish is actively involved in surgical training and academic development. She serves as part of the faculty for the General Surgery Residency Training Program and is a member of the Qatar Board of Medical Specialties (QBMS), contributing to curriculum design, resident assessment, and competency-based surgical education. Her clinical expertise encompasses the full spectrum of benign and malignant colorectal diseases, with proficiency in both laparoscopic and open colorectal resections. She remains committed to enhancing patient experience and promoting evidence-based colorectal care in Qatar.
