Dr. Mahmood Al-Dhaheri is a Colorectal Surgeon at Hamad General Hospital, Qatar and a Fellow in Advanced Colorectal Cancer Surgery at the Champalimaud Foundation, Lisbon, Portugal. He earned his MBBS from Aden University before completing his General Surgery residency at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Qatar and then pursued subspecialty training in Colorectal Surgery at HMC, with a focus on advanced laparoscopic and robotic techniques. He went on to earn the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS, Eng) in UK and the Fellowship of the European Society of Coloproctology in Ireland. In addition, he obtained Master of Science in Medical Education from the University of Oxford. He has a keen interest in medical education and clinical research, where he authored and co-authored more than 50 peer review articles, won several awards including best research proposal and idea at the Qatar Research Symposium's 7th in 2018. He established and led the research and education program within the colorectal department in HMC. He also serves as an assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar.​
