Dr. Darbar’s main clinical interests are in the field of clinical electrophysiology, especially the treatment and management of inherited arrhythmia syndromes including atrial fibrillation (AF). He is a clinician-scientist with an extensive background in cardiovascular research. The goal of research in the Darbar lab since its inception has been the translation of cardiovascular pathophysiology from bench to bedside, with a focus on cardiac arrhythmias, a major public health problem. The Darbar lab is supported by 2 NIH grants investigating the genetic and genomic basis of Atrial fibrillation and an NIH pharmacogenomics grant where Dr. Darbar directs a project evaluating genetic determinants of drug response in AF.
