Ms. Asma Mohammad is an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR). Currently, she is working with the Cardio-Oncology service at NCCCR.
Previously she worked as a CNS for palliative care service; her vast experience in cardiology started in 2002 as a front-line nurse, charge nurse & head nurse in different Cardiology units in Heart hospitals.
She gained a master's degree in Nursing from the University of Calgary in 2015 and a Leadership for change program certificate in 2017. She obtained Essentials of Cardio-oncology certificate from the European Cardio-Oncology Symposium (ECOS) in 2020.
She is the chair of the corporate nursing and midwifery research and evidence-based practice committee for Heart Hospital and a member of the Corporate advanced nursing and midwifery practice network & professional practice. She is working with the University of Calgary-Qatar as a partner supervisor for the graduate students. Her research publications focused on cardiology, palliative & nursing. Extensive experience in hospital/ clinical/ industrial pharmacy, clinical trials & clinical research, healthcare quality, and business development. Her areas of expertise are mainly oncology, parenteral nutrition, palliative care, VTE, publication & editing, healthcare quality, business management, and pharmaceutical practice. She received many awards on national and international levels.
