Dr Al-Salihy completed his post graduate training in Old age psychiatry in the United Kingdom and has been a consultant in the field since 2014. He held many senior positions in Hamad medical corporation and was the director of psychiatry old age fellowship program and Psychiatry residency program for many years.
Currently he is the director of Older adult's psychiatry service in HMC and involved the development and expansion of psychiatry services in Qatar for older adults. He was involved in writing Qatar National dementia guidelines, HMC dementia guidelines and Qatar national dementia plan in collaboration with other stakeholders.
Dr Al-Salihy is interested in teaching and education and presented in many international conferences in Qatar and outside Qatar. His main research interest is in the field of neurocognitive disorders and closely works with Cambridge and Peterborough mental health trust to improve psychiatric care to elderlies and increase research activities of the team.
