Dr. Fatma Al Raisi is a highly experienced pharmacist who holds a BSc in Pharmacy from King Saud University in Riyadh. After completing her degree, she joined the Royal Hospital in September 2000, where she worked as a pharmacist across various departmental sectors for 15 years.
During her tenure at the Royal Hospital, she held several positions, including Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Section for three years and Nephrology Clinical Pharmacist for more than 12 years. During this time, she completed her MSc at the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom. She later joined the Oman College of Health Sciences Pharmacy Programme as an academic and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods (with merit) and a PhD at Robert Gordon University in the United Kingdom. In addition, she completed an online course on renal pharmacotherapy with distinction from Auckland University in 2012.
Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Pharmacology Department of the college. She is the president of the Board of the Oman Pharmaceutical Society and a member of the Communications Committee of the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy. She has also completed an online postgraduate programme at the Pharmacy Leadership Academy, organized by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacy, which contributed to enhancing her leadership skills.
She is an author of more than 20 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and serves as a reviewer for several international journals. She has presented her work at various conferences, both at local and international levels.
