

Professor Raad H. Mohiaddin MD, FRCR, FRCP, FESC, PhD. Professor of Cardiovascular Imaging, Royal Brompton Hospital and National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. Prof. Mohiaddin’s main clinical and research interest over the last 30 years has been the development and applications of contemporary cross-sectional imaging techniques particularly MRI in cardiology. His concern has been to make the best possible use of the functional and anatomical information provided by MRI in understanding congenital and acquired cardiovascular diseases and to guide diagnosis and management of patients. Professor Mohiaddin was twice awarded the William S. Moore award of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine in the years 1991 and 1993. This is the highest honor offered by this society to a medical investigator. Professor Mohiaddin is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Radiologists and the European Society of Cardiology. He has served on the Boards on the Trustees and scientific program committees of numerous scientific and medical societies. He is assistant editor for the Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and on the editorial board of many medical journals and a referee for several clinical and scientific journals. He has a long list of peer-reviewed papers, four published books and numerous invited lectures nationally and internationally. Professor Mohiaddin is PI on several successful grant applications and has supervised several successful PhD and MSc students. He served as internal and external examiner for a number of prestigious universities.
