Professor Ghulam J Mufti OBE DM FRCP FRCPath 

Professor Ghulam J Mufti OBE is Head of the largest department of haematological medicine in the UK. He is based at King’s Health Partners (Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s hospitals, King’s College London). He is the Director of the King’s Global Institute of Haematology and an Executive Director of King’s College Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust. 

He is internationally renowned for his work in Haemato-oncology, particularly Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukaemias (AML). He leads a research group on the molecular genetics of MDS/aplastic anaemia/AML and is a member of several working groups that produced national and international guidelines on the treatment and prognosis of MDS. He has published 500+ papers (H-Index: 81, I-factor: 11) and chapters in scientific journals and textbooks on leukaemias, MDS and other bone marrow failure syndromes.

Professor Ghulam is a founding member of the UK MDS Forum and the International MDS Foundation, for which his department at King’s College Hospital is a recognized Centre of Excellence.
