- Participating individuals or teams (composed of nurses or midwives, or a combination of both) must be employed by one of the 22 countries that are members of the Arab League for Nursing and Midwifery.
- The submitting author(s) must be the presenter and must be officially registered for the Arab and Nurses Day 2022.
- Abstracts must be submitted based on the identified themes. An abstract should only be submitted if the author intends to attend the event and present orally if selected.
- Members of the HMC Organizing Committee are not eligible to participate.
- Submission constitutes agreement to the guidelines and conditions set out by the Organizing Committee.
- Multiple submissions in any of the four categories can be accepted from a participating country.
- Author(s) will be asked to declare that they have received ethical approval for their study and state any conflict of interest for the presentation.
- All submissions will undergo a blind review by a panel of experts. The reviewer reserves the right to validate, request additional information, and make decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of the submission.
- Once submitted, participants are not allowed to amend or modify submission.
- Abstracts that do not comply with the guidelines will not be considered.
- The decision of the panel of experts is final, irrevocable, and not appealable.
Guidelines for Writing an Abstract
- The abstract must reflect the author’s original work, either published or non-published, which has been undertaken within the last 5 years.
- Abstracts must be submitted in English and checked for grammar and plagiarism.
- Full names of the author(s) and their affiliations must be provided. The presenting author must be listed as the first author.
- A 2x2 cm colored photo and 100-word biography of the presenter must be attached.
- The abstract must include:
- Introduction
- Aims/ Objectives
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
- Abstract title must be concise and is limited to 20 words.
- The abstract must not exceed 250 words, excluding the title, keywords, and author’s information. A maximum of 5 keywords is allowed.
- Presenters are encouraged to consider what approach works best for their content.
- A description of the types of interactive activities the presenter(s) will use to engage learners must be included (40-word limit).
- The APA 7th edition reference system must be used. References are not included in the word count.

The deadline for submission is 3 pm Doha Time (GMT+3) on 12 October 2022.
- Submissions must include a digital copy of all presentation materials (slides, handouts, and conflict of interest statements).
- The content must not promote personal or commercial products or services.
- Presentations must reflect the principles of adult learning to engage the audience and help them to learn effectively.
- Presenters are encouraged to consider what approach works best for their content.
- A description of the types of interactive activities the presenter(s) will use to engage learners must be included (40-word limit).
Guidelines for Oral Presentations
- Submitting authors will be contacted by email once a decision has been made by the Selection Panel.
- Selected authors will be scheduled for recording by the organizing committee.
- Selected abstracts for presentation must be delivered in English.
- Each speaker will be allocated 15 minutes for their presentation and 5 minutes for the virtual panel discussion.
- The content of presentation must include:
- Presenter Information
- Presentation Title and Category
- SMART learning objectives for the presentation.
- A Disclosure of Conflict-of-Interest slide.
- An overview of the innovation and how it evolved.
- A summary of the development, implementation or utilization of innovative strategies that promote and facilitate the delivery of effective nursing and midwifery practice.
- An exploration of the challenges experienced, and how they were overcome.
- A synopsis of how the innovation supports achievement of national or international strategy.
- An overview of the impact evaluation for the innovation, including whether the stated objectives were achieved.
- The implications for future nursing and midwifery practice.

- Overheads or slides must be large (preferably Arial 32) and easy to read. Graphs, tables, or illustrations must be legible and clear.
- Slides must have high contrast colors such as backgrounds with light text or light backgrounds with dark text.
- It is the responsibility of the presenter to reference the work of other authors that is cited within their presentation. This includes but is not limited to texts, pictures, and videos.
Submission and Selecion Criteria
- Abstract will be submitted through the Arab and Nurses Day 2022 online portal.
- A panel of experts for each category will carry out a blind review of submitted abstracts. 3 from each category that meet the criteria will be selected for oral presentation
- The panel’s decision will be communicated by organizing committee to the submitting author through the official conference e-mail.
- All abstracts accepted for presentation will be published on the conference website prior to the conference.
