Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Dental Internship Program
The Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Dental Internship Program is a hands-on training program for new dental school graduates, to provide exposure to several major dental specialties. Intended as a bridge between dental school and specialist dental training or general dentistry practice, the program entails rotations in Periodontics, Orthodontics, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Pedodontics, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
The program has one intake per year, with selected candidates beginning their program on 1 January.

Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible to apply for our Dental Internship program, applicants must meet
all of the following requirements:
- Graduated within the past three years with a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Surgery (or equivalent) from a recognized dentistry school. Final year dentistry students are eligible to apply provided they will graduate prior to the expected internship joining date.
- Hold Qatari citizenship, GCC citizenship, or a valid Qatar residency permit (first degree family sponsorship only).
- Have passed the Ministry of Public Health Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) General Dentist Qualifying Exam (Prometric).
- Met the minimum listed score in any one of the following required English language proficiency examinations:

Additional Information
- Candidates who have already completed a dental internship at HMC are not eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have partially completed a dental internship at HMC or those who have completed a dental internship year elsewhere are eligible to apply; however, priority will be given to applicants who have no prior internship experience.
- At this time, HMC is unable to accommodate those resident in Qatar under the sponsorship of an employer or international applicants without valid residency in Qatar.
- TOEFL, IELTS and OET results must be valid at the time of application. The current validity of both exams is two years from the date of testing. Candidates with results expiring before January 2025 should contact our office for advanced verification.
- Applications must be
fully complete prior to submission,
including all required qualifying and English language proficiency examination scores. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that exams are written in sufficient time that scores are available prior to submitting an application.
- All applications will be verified thoroughly for false information. Any discovered instances of false information or manipulation of documents will result in disqualification and withdrawal of the application.
