Chief Transformation Officer NHS Improving Quality
Helen J. Bevan, PhD, Chief Transformation Officer of NHS Improving Quality, has been a leader of large-scale change in the English National Health Service for more than 20 years. In 2010, her team launched a call to action, utilizing social movement leadership principles, which contributed to a 51 percent reduction in prescribing of antipsychotic drugs to people with dementia across the country. Dr. Bevan initiated NHS Change Day, in partnership with a group of young clinical and managerial leaders, and she also leads the School for Health and Care Radicals. Acknowledged globally for her expertise in large-scale change and ability to translate it into practical action and deliver outcomes, Dr. Bevan provides advice, guidance, and training on transformational change to leaders of health and care systems across the world.
