This session will provide an update on Virginia Mason Medical Center's
journey to implement the lean as their management method throughout
their entire organization. There will be a specific focus on quality and
safety initiatives with an emphasis on achieving zero defects.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the rationale and potential for applying the principles and tools of lean in health care.
- Identify the applicability of these methods to improving
quality and patient safety by eliminating waste and non-value added
variation from both clinical and business processes.
