Dr. Noora Al Hammadi is the Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology and a Senior Consultant Radiation Oncologist at the National Centre for Cancer Care & Research. She is also an Assistant Professor, Clinical Radiation Oncology at the Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Al Hammadi obtained her Bachelors in Medical Sciences from the Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain in 1997 and went on to obtain her MD degree in 1999. She undertook general professional training at HMC in Qatar before completing specialist training in Radiation Oncology at the University Clinics of Heidelberg in Germany. After obtaining her FACHARZT (German Board) in Radiation Oncology in 2008, she returned to HMC as a Staff Radiation Oncologist. She was appointed Chairman of the Radiation Oncology Department in 2009.
Dr. Al Hammadi has a subspecialty interest in Breast Radiation Oncology and she is a current member of the HMC Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Site Group. She is also an active member of the senior leadership team at the NCCCR. In addition to her clinical and administrative responsibilities, Dr. Al Hammadi is the Qatar program manager for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) QUATRO program and she chairs several regional training programs in radiation oncology offered under the auspices of the IAEA. Her research interests are in the area of quality assurance in radiation oncology and the management of technology innovation in cancer care.
