The Department of Anesthesiology, ICU and Perioperative Medicine at HMC and the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Heart Hospital would like to extend an invitation for you to attend the World Anesthesia Day-Qatar 2016 which will be held on 3 and 4 November, 2016.
World Anesthesia Day-Qatar commemorates the first successful demonstration of ether anesthesia on 16 October, 1846 for the third consecutive year here at HMC. This is considered one of the most significant events in the history of anesthesia. This discovery made it possible for patients to obtain the benefits of surgical treatment without pain associated with surgical operation.
The event will bring together national and international experts in the field of anesthesia. The resulting confluence of ideas, knowledge and expertise will serve as a guiding light for HMC’s quest for excellence. There will be a series of talks and discussions on the wide ranging facets of anesthesia and allied sub specialties, with focus on quality and outcomes. We are sure the two days of academic activity will go a long way to reinforcing HMC’s vision and commitment to academic medicine.
