The Corporate Tracheostomy Committee and ORL-HNS (ENT) Section are organizing Tracheostomy Tube Change Training for respiratory therapists, nurses and other paramedics to improve the management of low risk tracheostomy tube change within the Corporation.

After completion, candidates will be evaluated by competent clinicians. If successful, they will be awarded a certificate and an opportunity of changing tracheostomy tubes in low risk patients identified as follows:
  • Thin neck
  • Not in ventilator
  • No granulation tissues
  • No previous history of difficult change
They will also each have a logbook to record their activities utilizing the experience for one year as follow-up on their training. It is expected that the training will expand the professional experience of our allied health professionals under proper guidance of our esteemed clinicians.
