Dr. Hamza Ali Eskandarani

Dr. Eskandarani has been the Director of Alumni and Career Development Centre at Dammam University, Saudi Arabia since 2011. He currently serves as Associate Professor and previous to this, served as the Chairman from 1993-1998 in the Department of Biochemistry at the College of Medicine, University of Dammam.

 Dr. Eskandarani obtained his Bachelor of Science and Joint Honours in Biochemistry and Chemistry from University of Salford in Manchester, England in June 1982. He then obtained his PhD in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Manchester in November 1988.

Dr. Eskandarani has participated in various research projects in biochemistry, clinical physiology and genetics across many disciplines. He has a special interest in infertility and had performed various research projects in the field of IVF including pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and fertility preservation. He also contributed in discovering a new mutation in cystic fibrosis genes that may be related to fertility which he was awarded a Certificate of Registration.

Dr. Eskandarani has a large number of publications in international journals as well as book chapters and reports. He had participated and organized many international and national conferences and workshops and is currently participating in the task force group for “Establishing the Saudi National Registry of Assisted Reproductive Technology”.
