The Department of Anesthesia, ICU and Perioperative Medicine is proud to announce that The European Society of Regional Anesthesia (ESRA) has chosen Qatar as one of its centers for the prestigious European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia (EDRA) examination. In conjunction with this exam, we have the honor to hold the Second Qatar International Pain Conference, on 28 to 29 April 2017. We have one day allocated to hands-on workshops in regional anesthesia, followed by a full day of interesting activities during our conference.
It’s an exciting time for Hamad Medical Corporation, as we continue to grow and be recognized as a world-class academic health care organization. This conference is an excellent opportunity to keep updated on old and new modalities in pain and regional anesthesia, and meet with local and international experts in pain management.

Pain, both acute and chronic, continues to challenge both the patient experience and morbidity within the healthcare system. Pain can present with diverse symptoms and can be difficult to alleviate. Effectively treating pain requires a multimodal approach and an organized system. Effective pain management is an important element of improving patient satisfaction, and the wellbeing of our patients.
