The Department of Physiotherapy, Hamad General Hospital is proud to announce its First Qatar Physiotherapy Symposium on the 28 November 2020. This symposium will provide the latest evidence-based strategies to strengthen the health care competencies in the background of the recent pandemic. The symposium will enumerate & discuss the strategies and the pathways developed to overcome this unusual challenge. The experts will explain the latest evidence in the management and complications related to Physiotherapy and rehabilitation of the COVID-19 patients. The organizing committee has arranged a very intuitive, stimulating and concentrated program for the symposium. 

We sincerely hope that  this symposium will serve as a platform for meeting the therapists and clinicians across the country, in order to widen professional contact and create new opportunities, including establishing new collaborations.


To showcase and explain the evidence based strategies undertaken by the Department of Physiotherapy to deliver the best possible care to the COVID-19 patients and to discuss the barriers and challenges of physiotherapy provision in the ‘new normal world’.

  • To outline the evidence-based strategies undertaken by the physiotherapy department to manage the patient population during and after the COVID pandemic
  • To discuss the global impact of COVID- 19 on health and wellbeing and its impact on rehabilitation
  • To discuss the emerging evidences and practices for the provision of physiotherapy care in this ‘new normal’ world.
