Dr. Stella Major

Dr. Stella Major is Associate Professor of Family Medicine and Director of Clinical Skills and Simulation Lab at Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar. She completed her medical degree (MBBS - 1990) and board certified in Family Medicine (MRCGP- 1995) and subsequently a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practice, UK (FRCGP -2011).

She has over 30 years of experience as a family physician, educator and an academic leader. Her expertise is in teaching clinical and communication skills, with a special focus on undergraduate medical education. She serves as deputy national representative for Qatar in the European Association for Communication in Healthcare (https://each.international); a worldwide non-profit organization with the overall aim of promoting effective evidence-based patient-centered healthcare communication between patients, relatives and healthcare practitioners.

She is a certified Healthcare Simulation Educator - Advanced (CHSE-A) by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and Sim University faculty member of the Society for Simulation in Europe (SESAM). She has authored over 30 publications, holds numerous awards in teaching and educational innovation, and grants for course design and research in medical education. 

 She practices family medicine at the QF Primary Health Care Clinic in Qatar and remains actively engaged in clinical practice in UK with full registration and an active license to practice, with the General Medical Council, UK.
