Dr. Maryam Al Obaidli joined Hamad Medical Corporation as a consultant in the Department of Geriatrics and Long-Term Care. She currently holds the additional position of Assistant Director of the Fellowship Program in Geriatric Medicine and Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar.
Dr. Maryam successfully obtained the Arab Board certification in 2010 after which she joined the Primary Health Care Corporation as a specialist. She was promoted to Consultant in Family Medicine in April 2014. Dr. Maryam obtained a fellowship in geriatrics in April 2016 to pursue a career specialization in this field.
Since joining the Department of Geriatrics and Long-Term Care, she has been actively involved in research and development of clinical services for the elderly, which includes all levels of services ranging from inpatient and outpatient care to outreach activities for the elderly in the community.
Dr. Maryam is also part of the National Dementia Plan taskforce and supports community awareness and education programs, especially in support of the World Alzheimer’s Month awareness campaign.
