Low Back Pain: A Clinical framework for Physiotherapists
Integrating a clinical framework in assessing and managing low back pain is a significant global public health concern and a leading cause of years lived with disability (YLD).
LBP is the most common musculoskeletal condition referred for physiotherapy management in Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), with a prevalence rate of 59.2percent in Qatar.
HMC's physiotherapy department appointed a team of musculoskeletal physiotherapy specialists to create a clinical framework to guide its staff towards current concepts and evidence in the assessment and management of LBP.
The team will briefly explain why a clinical framework is relevant and, based on consistent recommendations from several high-quality guidelines, from a Physiotherapy perspective. These salient components should be included in physiotherapy assessment and management for non-specific low back pain patients.
