
Dr. Gianfranco Pittari
Dr. Gianfranco Pittari received his International Baccalaureate from the United World Colleges and his MD degree from the University of Pavia Medical School, Italy. He later obtained a clinical hematology specialty training from the University of Parma, Italy and a Master in Clinical Research followed by a PhD in Immunology from the University of Paris 11.
He initially served as BMT physician in Parma, and subsequently worked at Gustave-Roussy and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Currently, he serves as Senior Consultant of Hematology/BMT at HMC’s National Center for Cancer Care and Research.
Dr Pittari’s focus is to understand how immune effector cells recognize cancer, and how this knowledge can improve the efficacy of cell therapy for blood malignancies. His work is published in multiple top-tier journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Immunology, Clinical Cancer Research, Frontiers in Immunology.
