The Rheumatology Division at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is delighted to invite all physicians interested in MSK ultrasound to participate in our 6th Qatar Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course. Following its great success during the last five years, we have increased the number of instructors to accommodate more participants.
The course will take place in Doha from 5 to 7 December, 2019.
Although various musculoskeletal ultrasound courses are being held all over the world, including in the Middle East, our course is unique as it is specifically tailored to meet the demands of the practicing rheumatologist, with a special focus on orthopedic subjects as well.
The workshops are divided into small groups to ensure better opportunity for learning.
Who can participate?
This year we extended our target to other fields for physicians who are interested in musculoskeletal ultrasound:
- Physical Medicine
- Sport Medicine
- Medicine (Physician)
- Pain Management/Anesthesia
This intensive three-day course is divided into two levels:
- Basic Course: For those who are beginners in the practice or have some experience in MSK ultrasound.
- Intermediate Level: For those who already did at least two basic-level courses and are practicing MSK ultrasound regularly.
EULAR endorsement is provided for the basic level for the 3rd year and the intermediate level for the 2nd year.
All levels are certified by the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB).
Also, participants will gain International CPD credits.
Note: We can provide an extra workshop group for Pediatric Rheumatologists instructed by MSK US Experts if the number of interested participants is suitable for one group.
This year, we have added two bonus workshops at the end of the course:
- Ultrasound for Crystal Diseases (only for intermediate-level rheumatologists)
- Spine Ultrasound (only for orthopedic surgeons and pain management physicians)
Cadaveric MSK Ultrasound-Guided Procedure Course:
We are also very glad to announce the commencement of the first Qatar Cadaveric Musculoskeletal Ultrasound-Guided Procedure Course, which will be held at Aspetar Hospital on 8 December, 2019.
This hands-on course is limited for 30 intermediate-level participants (on a first-come, first-served basis).
Additional fees are applied for this extra course.
Posters and Image Competition:
This competition offers an award for four participants at the opening ceremony of the gala dinner on 6 December.
Interested participants are required to send an interesting case from their practice on PowerPoint slides (maximum of ten slides) with a summary of the learning points.
EULAR faculty will judge the winning images.
Posters of interesting cases or small series are also accepted and will be displayed on poster boards during the course.
The authors of the winning posters and images will have the opportunity to present their work, for a maximum of five minutes, during the gala dinner.
