David J. Warner is Senior Director, Practice Advancement Office at the American Society of Health- System Pharmacists, Bethesda, Md. Dr. Warner has clinical, academic, and administrative experiences at academic medical centers and his current responsibilities include directing the new ASHP Center of Excellence in Medication-Use Safety and Pharmacy Practice domestic certification program and directing international accreditation programs for pharmacy services and for pharmacy practice residency programs.
He has worked for ASHP in full-time and contractor roles for 25 years in the Practice Advancement Office and the Accreditation Services Office, including former roles as Senior Director, Consulting and Practice Development; Director, International Residency Program Development; Director of Residency Program Development; and, Accreditation Services Associate. He has been involved with international residency program development and accreditation for more than 10 years.
