Dr Waqar Haider Gaba

MBBS (K.E.), FRCP (RCPE), FACP (ACP), MRCP Acute (RCPL), DCSM (RCPI), PG Dip Cli Ed (RCPSG), Simulation Certified (Harvard CMS), CRC (KU), CCT (AIM, GIM, Stroke)

Dr. Gaba has over 20 years of experience with CCT(UK) in Acute Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Stroke Medicine. He completed his Stroke Fellowship in London.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh, UK, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is an MRCP UK and Ireland Examiner. He is a former King’s College, London clinical lecturer and Honorary Senior Lecturer for the University of Leeds. He is an adjunct clinical assistant professor at UAE University and Khalifa University UAE. He has a certificate in healthcare simulation from the Centre for Medical Simulation affiliated with Harvard Medical School and a Clinical Research Certificate from Khalifa University UAE.  

He worked as a Consultant Physician in Bradford, Yorkshire, UK, where he received the clinical excellence award and the special commendation award for team of the year for the Ambulatory care unit before joining SKMC, Abu Dhabi, as an Internal Medicine Consultant. He is the Stroke Lead and Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at SKMC.

He has over 35 publications, including a book chapter, over 50 posters, and over 50 Oral presentations at National and International conferences.

His main interests include atrial fibrillation, VTE, medical education, and clinical simulation.​​
